8th Pay Commission 2025: Coming 8th Pay Commission is expected to bring a major change in the salaries and pensions of central government employees. Last time big change was made by 7th Pay Commission in 2016. As per latest updates many employee unions are requesting government to set up 8th Pay Commission as possible as soon. As the inflation and living costs are rising day by day.
When 8th Pay Commission will Announce?
There is no official announcement still came out but pay commissions usually set up it every 10 years. So as the regular practice the 8th Pay Commission is expected to be announced by 2026. But as the employee unions are asking for earlier launch there is possibility of launching in 2025. So that revised salaries can be implemented before the next general elections.
How Much Salary Will Increase?
Market experts believes that there can be a 30% to 35% increase in basic pay under the new 8th Pay Commission. The current fitment factor under the 7th Pay Commission is 2.57. Under the new 8th Pay Commission, it may rise upto 3.68 to 4.5.
For example if your basic salary is ₹20,000 by 3.68 rate it may revise to ₹27,360 under the new structure. Also other benefits like House Rent Allowance HRA, Travel Allowance, and medical benefits are expected to increase in 8th Pay Commission. This new revolution will improve the financial position of lakhs of government employees across the country.
How Pensioners Will Get Benefit?
Pensioners will also receive big benefit from the new 8th pay commission. As the procedure pensions are calculated based on the last drawn salary but any hike in basic pay will directly increase pension amounts.
This will specially help to retired employees who are struggling with rising inflation. Due to this Family Pension will also increase which will help dependents of retired government employee.
What About DA?
Due to this pay commission not only salary will increase but also Dearness Allowance DA also will be revise. At present DA is 50% of the basic salary and as regular practice it is revised twice a year based on inflation. Once the new 8th pay commission is implemented the DA will be recalculated as per new basic salary.
